Hillside Family Medicine

Are you tired of long waits to be seen and spending only a few short minutes with your doctor? All of our appointments are a minimum of thirty minutes long, and female health examination appointments are at least forty minutes long. A comprehensive clinic entails that we do your blood work, x-rays, and minor surgeries on-site.

We are conveniently located in South Anchorage. Parking is available right outside our front entrance. Extended hours and numerous “same day” appointments ensure that we are here when YOU need us.

All notes are typed, completely legible, and easily accessible to physicians and staff. We use an electronic health record system that is CCHIT certified with top-notch security to ensure that your medical information is safe, secure, and immediately available.  We also offer telemedicine through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform that is integrated with our electronic health record system and requires no additional apps to download. Updox – Video Chat

Rest assured the latest technology has been implemented to keep all of your information private and secure. In addition, will never sell or share your information beyond that which is spelled out in our HIPAA privacy agreement.

We are preferred providers and considered in network with multiple medical insurance plans –
Premera BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Multiplan, PHCS and Beech Street.

We are not contracted with Champus/Tricare, Medicare, Medicaid, or Denali Kid Care and are not able to see patients who are covered by these insurances.

Note: United Healthcare, UMR, and most GEHA plans will be in network starting April 1, 2024.

Our Staff

Hillside Family Medicine’s clinical staff is here
for you and your family.

The Clinical Staff here at Hillside Family Medicine are all highly qualified professionals who work closely with our doctors to ensure our patients get the care they need. Our Medical Assistants perform a variety of in-house services such as Labs, X-Rays and EKG to allow quick, accurate feedback and diagnosis.

Our Clinical Staff assist the doctors with referrals to outside physicians or specialists, and to complete all Occupational Medicine Forms and FAA Physicals. They also assure that patients get their prescriptions filled whether called in, faxed to a pharmacy or sent to a mail-order pharmacy.

The Front office staff here at Hillside Family Medicine
is here to serve you.

The Front Office staff greets and assists patients, schedules appointments, gathers billing information, and collects payments. They make sure we have current up to date information on our patients in order to communicate patient needs to our providers and provide accurate insurance billing.

The Front Office staff can also take care of any Medical Record needs that you may have whether it be a copy for your own personal use or to send them to another Medical Clinic. A Medical Records Release is required and can be found in Registration Forms under the Patient Forms link.

Our Medical Billing Specialists work hard to be sure you get the reimbursement you deserve.

Melicia and Rachel B. are our Medical Billing & Coding Specialists here at Hillside Family Medicine. All of our billers are Certified Professional Coders through the American Academy of Professional Coders and work directly with medical insurances, on behalf of our patients, to ensure payment is received for medical care billed.  They post payments received by insurance companies and ensure that we have the most up to date insurance information for our patients.

There is a member of the Medical Billing & Coding team available in office Monday-Friday to answer any billing questions that patients may have regarding insurance billing and account balances.
